Chun fans have finally got the alpha costume they’ve been whining for

Alpha Chun looks amazing. And as a Ryu player, I gotta say, that’s kinda sweet. I like the wrist bands and torn street clothes.

About the 3s reveal, not sure how to feel. I played and loved 3s for almost a decade. I’ve only had 4 for a few years. I’ll buy 3s online, but doubt I’ll switch from 4 to 3s. I’d rather see all the 3s characters make the leap to 4!

About SF X Tekken, looks like Capcom is doing a nice job. I’ll probably buy this also. But only the Capcom version. And will probably only play it briefly, then switch back to SSf4.

About the New characters, All abord the Hype Train! I can only imagine the speculation and arguments that will take place over the next few months. But hey, we all have fun doing that stuff right?!?

All in all, it’s a great time to be a fighting game fan. I haven’t had this much fun since I bought my Dreamcast, bought, SF3, SF3DI, SF33s, Cvssnk, MvsC, MvsC2, Techromancer and PowerStone!

I’ve always been behind Capcom since the days of megaman on nes and street fighter 2….but…recently it’s kinda like….they’re showing the love i’ve had for them even when the games they were releasing were crap (I.E: DMC2, BOF5, and megaman battle netowork 1234567…)…so you know what IT COULD BE WORSE!! COME ON!!! WHEN WILL IT BE ENOUGH!? I love the ALts every one them….SF3 online a blessing and Street Fighter X Tekken…holy shit words can’t describe…..SO LETS GET BEHIND CAPCOM IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER!

since theyre teaming up with namco, they should learn from them. in tekken 6 and soul calibur 4 you can customize the characters with hundreds of different items and capcom wants to charge us for every single costume?

Well i for one dont care about the customization, but i dont want Rolento or Alex :P, i dont use them so i dont need them, give me someone i use. i doubt they will be used that much anyway, alot of people just want certain characters because they just want them, not because the use them, and thats damned annoying.. it doesnt even make sense with the storyline to add Alex

Alex is probably the easiest to insert of the SF3 cast. He’s a training fighter, under the guy that gets knocked around by Gill so what’s wrong with giving him an entry just fighting for the hell of it?

Speakin of costumes does anybody know where i can get official street fighter apparel? ANYBODY??????? I love that Chun finally has a good costume… but i wish they used one of the other ones from the SFIV art books, like the one where she wore a traditional chinese monk-like outfit with her hair down… that shit was hot (or the hooker-esque look with the micro skirt and all) and really they could have used a better outfit for Ryu, the torn street look seems a bit rushed to me. but the rest i like, i like gief and hakan, cammy and rufus look kinda funny

Cammy looks to have a cat suit on, lmao. Not kidding, she looks like a Catwoman Cosplayer.
Geif has some weirdo Russian outfit on. The classic hat and a jacket and pants that seem to be three sizes too small. Possibly his gayest costume yet. The only thing that’ll beat it is if started wearing a banana hammock ala Borat.
I actually like Blanka’s alt. He’s dressed like a Mayan Thunder Bird and that’s awesome.
I wonder if Guile will get his bomber jacket? Give him one of those aviator jackets all the pilots wear, lmao.

For one….Alex is the main character for SF3 I’m surprised he was added now and not on Super Street Fighter 4…and secondly you gotta look at it this way…one new character is like a whole new strategy to get used to a whole new opponent to compete with….I see new characters new obstacles…..or dare I say…I LIKE ALEX!?!? :O….I’m gonna say it again and maybe it will sink in….IT COULD BE WORSE!….much worse….

Not feeling ryus at all without some regular pants and shoes. Most of these look very strange imo, maybe after this set we could see some alts that could show a modern take on the crew. like my boy fire said about guile.

still in shock over the cross over being tekken, but I’m sure it will rock though, I hear Alex and rolento are coming our way and that’s great. Alex was a great ryu killer in 3s and finally a bad guy with a different dynamic than just bisons goons.

Ah well here’s to hoping the fan base keeps up the support while I’m not in love with all these costumes ill be buying them and helping capcom do what they do best, great fighters and great fan fare.

I know alot of ppl are not pleased with Ryu’s new alt. That’s cool, but for what it’s worth, perhaps this is how young “Urban Japanese” dress. And if the pants are Ripped, I’d say that’s because he’s been fighting in his clothes.

Btw, his win quote says he can certainly affrord shoes, he goes barefoot for comfort. I know it’s being anal, but it wouldn’t make much sense for him to say that and be wearing shoes.

More to the point, he clearly does not like shoes! Lol, so I’m cool with it.

I’m gonna have to agree with you, that’s some of my biggest pet peeves.
But with these new ideas has to come some risk that not everyones actions can fit the costume at all times, but there is a bright side this is just the beginning I think with SF5, OR maybe even MVC3 and hopefully Street Fighter X Tekken they will address these issues and make costume specific taunts know what I mean?

Agreed, somtimes with new costumes the animations won’t or don’t match. But, in Ryu’s case he actually has a “Win Quote” that states he prefers NOT to wear shoes.

Clearly you can see the difference between costumes/animation vs potential plot line or character preferece.

I’m not saying it’s “Fact” or anything. I’m just saying that if you must have a reason for him to be barefoot, it’s one possibility.

I believe Ryu does not like shoes, plain and simple.

I kinda like that they keep adding new costumes I mean characters would be great but how many characters from Alpha can they REALLY put in? and plus I feel new costumes adds a new personality…for instance noone uses Akuma’s alt 1 anymore his Alt 2 is WAY to cool, point being all the old games have to retain their charm and if all the characters were thrown into 4….what’s the point of playing any of the old ones?…..anyone know what I’m getting at?

I too like alt costumes, and will take as many as I can get. But I do not agree that a limit can or should be placed on characters.

To be honist I could give a shit less about the “charm” of old games. They should add every Alpha and 3s character. I can hope, I can dream.

Street Fighter 3 will always be my favorite if Street Fighter keeps going in this 3-D sprite 2-D plane system, which by no means looks bad in-fact it looks great, I just would like certain characters to stay in the era they belong……just an opinion

Damn Gen is sick widdit!!!!!!! I’ve put balrog aside cuz he’s so basic and went to the other end of the spectrum. i don’t know what makes him so cold. can be played a lot of ways i guess. he’s should be a good opponent for rolento. YUN and YANG will get tossed if they ever make it to ssf4

Yeah I agree that Darkstalkers never got the attention it deserved….but what really pisses me off is that Capcom made a Darkstalkers Collection for PS2 but it never made it’s way to the States…I managed to get a hold of it after moding a PS2, epic games…..

As pertains to the SF series, I was also a 2d sprite purist. The reason was the art. The art is the heart and soul of SF.

One of the main reasons the EX series failed was because the game had the moves, but left the heart and soul behind.

That being said, when sf4 was announced I was very nervous. I thought I would keep playing 3s because it would be the superior SF game. But Capcom put in the work, captured the Look and feel of SF with polygons, and converted me.

SSF4 is hands down my favorite game in the series. And I mained 3s for like 8/9 years.

The True King of Fighters had returned, and brought back the fighting genra with it.

Now, let’s all gather in the Tekken lobby on the PShome network and start fights with Tekken scrubs!

Next we can see some other things the fans have been begging for.

2. More character INTRO’S 3 new per character
3. More character winning screen animations 3 new
4. More character moves: at least 2 per
5. Another Super
6. 3rd Ultra move
7. New ending KO system added.
8. Reverse ko, team ko, final ko’s three per character
9. Different colored starburst for ko’s
10. Random events.
11. stage ko’s
12. new stages.

Holy Crap Ton!!!!

I just found out that the money that Capcom made off the DLC outfits from Vanilla SF4, was used to fund the championship mode and updates for that game.

So the complete outfit DLC has been released today and if you don’t already have it, time to get it. If the purchase of new outfits are what fund, NEW CHARACTERS, OR NEW MOVES, BALANCE PATCHES, ETC.

Sign me up for DLC. I will buy it 4 times to support the game being updated. Kinda funny to think about all the people that say DLC outfits suck and they are not going to buy them, are the ones not supporting the future of the game.

That means the next time you knock someone for buying DLC outfits, you can pull your foot out of your mouth and thank them for the added content and new characters.

Btw, I’m glad you like Ryu, and perhaps “Your Ryu” was “unstoppable” in 3s, but I’m sure your aware Ryu was about mid tier in 3s. Not that tiers mean everything.

Back on topic though, if they do add more to the game, I want more stages and character specific intros. Doesn’t have to be a bunch of them but a few here ‘n there would be nice.

I’m hoping that all the new characters get 4 costumes just the same as the main cast from SFIV will have. I’m still hoping for a daily life style for the characters but I’m starting to doubt that’ll happen. Either way, I’m supporting this up till 3rd Strike comes out and then my little heart will be torn in two when I get to my PS home screen and see that disk SSFIV symbol right above the 3rd Strike logo. ho-hum

it’s PSN that allows the dlc to be DLoaded to up to five systems, not Capcom. And it’s not pirating to want to enjoy “your” dlc on various systems.

1) You have multiple systems in your house, and you don’t want to buy it over and over again!

2) You own SF but your friend does not. You going to buy the DLC for his system so you can use the costumes You “PAID” for?

A five system limit allows flexibility to use the content you paid for.

I have 47,000 points overall, using every character in the game. 6,500 of that with my main. So I’d agree that points is one tool you could use to measure how “Well Rounded” a player is.

Also, keep in mind that many ppl not only pay for costumes, but for various art, posters, statues, books, figures, comics, sticks, pads, etc etc etc.

PC modders are the group you should stalk down. I know a few ppl who have downloaded tons of free games on PC. Many of which are available on PSN. Capcom should put a stop to that for sure.

You know what I don’t get is why they can’t put some sort of Color Edit in the game I mean Soul Calibur did it….and Tekken did to an extent….no nevermind…BUT STILL why no Color Edit?….may sound gay but I love me color edits….now I know it won’t be quite like the 2-D edits but still layers Ono….layers….

One last thought on sharing DLC. Keep in mind that you can’t just give away your DLC, you have to give the person Every last bit of your account information.

How many ppl do you trust with that info. Problem solved, bigger fish to fry.

Listen my point is that I payed and will pay for dlc anytime however being that I did and do, im going to voice my opinion on the product they wish to sell. I am the consumer and when a company sells a product they look for what the customer wants. Maybe if I got it for free id be happy with whatever I got, remember the comment about cowboy ken and now with ryu? The Japanese may actually dress this way or think of Americans as cowboys? Sorry I dont want the table scraps any more.
Give us the color edit, take a poll on costumes get in tune with your customer base capcom.

Customer input is great, and I’m sure Capcom loves it. But paying for dlc or a game disk does not give us stock in the company. To take the stance that they owe us anymore that what we paid for is ludicrous.

So you got a Cowboy costume, big deal. It’s not my bag either, but to be so up in arms? Silly.

To shed some light on why I became involved in your comment.

I was once unable to purchase some dlc due to psn not accepting my credit card. I gave the money to a friend to download it for me. Now, that’s money that Capcom wouldn’t have otherwise recieved.

Then, the person who did the DL enjoyed it sooo much that he turned around and bought some avatars and other SF goodies. I just think given a little thought you’d see that allowing a DL limit on “Purchased!!” content is not the same a piracy.

To address my comment on Seth. He’s fine. But if I were you I wouldn’t use an ever changing tier list as your resource guide to life on SF, instead Learn from personal experience, tourney vids, or other players. Any one who plays/plays against Seth knows he’s a little quirky, and if not teathered by him Low Hp could be unbeatable. Zoning, projectile, anti air, stun damage, rush down and comboability. But who really gives a shit anyway? May the best players win.

I just don’t see gaming being about the gamers anymore I feel it’s moved towards interesting people who DON’T like games….so I can only see trend of GLOBAL interest really getting through to the big guys in Capcom so all this hoping and praying everyones little wishes gets granted is completely ridiculous….personally…I’d rather let the programmers make the game and if I don’t like it I won’t play it….I’m sick of giving input….shitty costumes and extra characters I don’t like really have no effect on my enjoyment of the game……..once again….just my opinion
