I think you may be looking into this too much..
The movement of the Shoryuken is still in the commands, somewhat.(except for maybe the command around 30-32)

As for the supposed “Hadouken” command, the whole motion didn’t occur, it showed a motion of: down, then right,
when it should be: down, diagonal right, right in a full quarter circle motion.

They forgot to add in double down forward.

There are a lot of misconceptions about sf4 shortcuts. Generally, they do require at least 3 inputs.

I’d theorize that what they showed in this vid with only 2 inputs happens because they pushed a direction that didn’t register in the input list because it was pushed before the start splash screen disappeared.

So double down-forward by itself wouldn’t work. But since it’s difficult to push only down-forward twice in a row without pushing another direction, it seems like it does.

Pushing back on the stick after the input and still getting an srk isn’t a big deal either. It’s just the input buffer at work and would, technically, be possible in other games.

What IS a problem is when you complete a full hadoken motion with no other inputs in between and a button press at the end, but because you pushed forward before those 3 inputs you get an srk.

It’s possible to deal with it in game, sure. But why should you have to? I can’t recall this happening in other games. (Not 100% sure. But it didn’t seem to be a problem.)

Work on reducing input confusion with various specials, supers, and ultras would go a long way with helping people feel better about the controls. Even charge characters find themselves accidentally using their dp motion specials when trying to do supers or ultras. That’s just a shame.

Shut the fuck up, Metsu!

I have never had problems with inputs. I think people shouldn’t complain about “crappy shortcuts” just deal with what you have been given. If you don’t like it then go play Shaq Fu…then you will be grateful for SF4. Lol.

Lonny | February 11, 2010 at 11:58 am

What is shaq fu?

arlington Cruz | February 11, 2010 at 12:10 pm

@loony. It’s an old Fighting game for snes and genesis with Shaq the ex-basketball player.

Ray 2 Bold | February 11, 2010 at 1:11 pm

This is no prob. This plays great.

Lonny | February 11, 2010 at 2:44 pm

Oh.

To much advantage for shoryuken users, give us back the original motion: 3 inputs and need to be stand for the first one.

Hypotheken? Heel veel hypotheek informatie: verschillende hypotheekvormen, hypotheekrentes, nationale hypotheek garantie, hoe een hypotheek te vergelijken.
