Haven’t you guys complained that this week was a slow one in terms SSF4 goodness, especially after last week’s reveal of the 3s characters? Well fear not, as your friendly neighborhood strugler is here to the rescue you!

I had the opportunity to interview Seth “the man” Killian and asked him all kinds of SSF4 questions i had, ranging from netcode to boxart passing by dudley’s Voice over and character balance. Check out he long interview and i hope you will enjoy it:

First of all thank you for this great opportunity seth, i know you are a very busy man.

1- My first question will be about the state of SSF4 right now, how complete is the game at this stage?

Development on SSFIV has recently been completed.

2- How much did the game change since the latest fight club ?

Hello everyone!
Thanks for the massive amount of comments on last week’s blog!

You know how in Ibuki’s part on the new character trailer her pet racoon Don made some appearances? I had to do the checking of Don’s images, and it was really strict - we did more retakes for Don than Ibuki.

Well then, first off the details for the Last Chance entry for the Street Fighter IV National Tournament have been decided on, so I’d like to tell you all about it! (You can also find this info on the official site’s special page)

For teams who would like to enter, please fill out the “Last Chance Sign-Up” between 9 and 10AM within the event hall. (Team priority will not be given)

There are 2 Last Chance spots. To decide these spots, we’ll have a tournament! However, the tournament won’t be held on VEWLIX cabinets, but on the XBox 360 with MADCATZ arcade sticks. Of course, you will only be allowed to use arcade characters.

We will announce the tournament brackets at 10:30, and the tourney starts at 11! There will be two blocks, and the winner from each block will get the Last Chance entry spot in the National Tournament!

Sorry for the long wait, but the first issue of our ongoing fan made manga is finally available for your viewing/reading pleasure.

In this issue, we get to meet the heroes of our story, Ryu and Ken as well as master gouken and the beautiful (also forgotten by Capcom) Ojou San, who is Gouken’s daughter, and for which we took the liberty to name her Hitomi.

As i write this post more issues are in the making, and we would really appreciate your comments and thoughts on our work.

The SF manga is written by me (strugler), drawn by the talented fire.tisane and inked by the awesome Steven Beck

Visit the SF1 manga for the download links

Super Street Fighter IV is only about two months away from release, so it is only normal to start seeing pre-order options on such big retailers such as Amazon and Gamestop. this time around each of these two retailers is offering an exclusive bonus if you pre-order the game early from them:

Both Amazon and Best buy will offer you a free timed exclusive Classic Alt DLC package, which includes the 2nd Alt costumes for, Gen, Fei, dhalsim, Guile and Blanka:

To preorder through amazon and get the free timed exclusive classic costume pack, check the two links below:

Gamestop on the other hand will offer you Street Fighter themed thumb warmers that will be useful for ….. for….. for….. nothing basically. Did i even write that right? friggin thumb warmers? i know i am supposed to be neutral and all but this is probably the worst pre-order bonus ever offered by mankind (except, of course, for the free handshake that was offered by peasants around 85 BC if you buy their crops before the season).

Korean website, ruliweb, has hi-res screenshots of the SSF4 menu (in Korean) and gameplay, as well as a first look ever into Juri’s anime prologue, which does look really high quality and similar to the excellent Juri Anime movie trailer we saw before (i particularely was afraid that it turns out like SF4 where the tie in anime movie and promo vids had good quality but the actual prologues and endings looked like saturday morning cartoons)

check out the rest of the screens here

Spanish website www.meristation.com has a new hands on preview article on SSF4 that tackels one of the most asked question online: Balance!

The article itself is in spanish, and luckily SRK user Kanta-Kun translated the whole thing for us:

The art of Shotokan:

We’ll go in depth with what we could confirm in-game about the characters known as shotos. Ryu is one of the characters that suffers modifications: His new ultra, which imitates Gouken’s, does obscene damage. [useless stuff we already know about HP.SRK doing 2 hits]. Ken’s cr.HK is faster now and Guren Senpukyaku goes through projectilesand fullscreen. His Dash is also better.

Akuma, suffered some limitations. [stuff about the loop being gone because of far.HK being slower]. Furthermore, after an FADC’d hadoken, he can only do far.HK against characters with larger hitboxes. Sagat now has 1000 stamina points, Tiger Uppercut does less dmg and Angry Scar, an evasion move, makes his following uppercut stronger. st.lk is 2 hits now.

開発ブログ Developer Blog

Hello everyone. This is Tsukamoto.

The SF3 characters have finally been announced! This week, of the 3 new characters, I’d like to focus on Ibuki.

I’m sure everyone would like to hear more about her moves and what it took to get her in SFIV, so director Okada as well as the main battle planner will be joining me this time around.

So now let’s meet the battle planner.

Sano:
Hello, I’m the planner Sano. I’m the type of old guy who wakes up early, goes to work, works until late, and then gets up early the very next morning (laughs). For the development of SSFIV, I’m particularly working on things relating to the battle, and character adjustments. Since I’m an old guy, you’ll find rice crackers on top of my desk. Just give me rice crackers and tea and I’m in paradise.

佐野

– First off, tell us the details of how Ibuki was added to the game.

Okada:
We’ve mentioned this several times before, but a basis of the SFIV series has been to celebrate 20 years of Street Fighter, by having a reunion of sorts. We were able to get Alpha characters in SFIV, so this time we wanted to give SF3 fans something, and as Ibuki was the most popular of the female characters she was decided on.
