SFIV alt costumes will be compatible with SSFIV + confirmation of new alts
31 Comments | Posted by strugler in Super Street Fighter IV

A Capcom unity user asked the Capcom staff via twitter if Super Street Fighter IV will be compatible with the already purchased alt costumes of SFIV, the user also asked if SSFIV will have new alt costumes. This is what the capcom unity twitter reply said:
Capcom_Unity: “Yes and yes. All that and then some. ”
So i guess we can finally stop complaining about Capcom charging us for the alt costumes on SFIV as they will work with not one but two games. right? no? ok!

Issue #0 of the Original Street Fighter one Manga now available!
7 Comments | Posted by strugler in SF1 Manga
As promised, we present to you the first issue of the ongoing original manga series based on the first Street Fighter game. click on the SF1Manga tab on top of the page to reach the manga’s dedicated blog page.
Street Fighter one, follows a young Ryu as he learns more about himself and the world of fighting as well as him participating (later on) in the first Street Fighter tournament, an event that will change his life forever. Expect to see the full SF1 cast fully drawn and developed for the first time ever.
The manga will be presented under two formats to choose from, a zip file containing the pages or a CBR file for the digital comic books enthusiasts (i personally recommend the latter) which will need a comic book reading free software like the excellent Cdisplay which can be downloaded freely here.
Street Fighter one is written by me, drawn by the talented fhilip Wright, inked by steven beck and later issues are being fully colored by Tom mills. Special thanx also goes to Vasili10 for proofreading the first two scripts.

Eurogamer interviews the beast himself: Daigo Umehara
4 Comments | Posted by strugler in Misc

Eurogamer has put an extensive very well made interview with Daigo “the beast” Umehara. According to Eurogamer it was near impossible to track Daigo and talk to him that they had to get Capcom help in doing so.
From the interview: ” Right now, there’s nobody younger than me that I feel threatened by. I haven’t met anyone that I felt possesses the skill to surpass me in the future. I’m not over-evaluating myself. I can analytically see their weakness, their ineptitudes.”
Also talking about the most famous Daigo win (the Evo 2004 final against justin wong) Umehara had this to say: “ “I just hadn’t played the game much and so lacked that hunger for victory. That helped because I was relaxed when I matched against Justin, as I didn’t have anything to lose. At the end of the final game, when I was cornered, I didn’t feel overwhelmed. I calmly registered it thinking: ‘If I lose here, I guess that’s it.’ I only realised later about how much incredible enthusiasm, excitement, cheering, and screaming filled the venue. I was so focused that I didn’t hear any of that. I had absolutely no idea at the time what was happening around me. After I won, I noticed several Japanese players who were beside me standing and cheering in excitement. That’s all I remember from the moment itself. Only when I saw the video clip of the match later, did I realise what really happened there.“”
Two videos have been spotted over at eventhubs, which features a tournament that puts Japan vs Korea in the greatest of all fighting games: Street Fighter IV
Set 1:
1st match: Kindevu (Rufus) vs. Laugh (Ryu)
2nd match: Momochi (Akuma) vs. RealRaiz (Rufus)
3rd match: Kyabetsu (C. Viper) vs. Poongko (Ryu)
4th match: Mago (Sagat) vs. Infiltration (Akuma)
Set 2:
1st match: Poongko (Ryu) vs. Kyabetsu (C. Viper)
2nd match: Laugh (Ryu) vs. Kyabetsu (C. Viper)
3rd match: RealRaiz (Rufus) vs. Kyabetsu (C. Viper)
4th match: Infiltration (Akuma) vs. Kyabetsu (C. Viper)

Nakky Blog for 11/27 *Translated by Azrael*: The aditional Characters!
23 Comments | Posted by strugler in Super Street Fighter IV

Hello everyone.
Now, as we are approaching the final stages of fine-tuning the battle system and de-bugging, the development department has become really intense. At any rate, its all over if I pass out, so I’m going to make sure I eat and sleep well, and will push myself to the limit! I hope you all support me!
And now finally, I’d like to present the second round of new characters for Super Street Fighter IV!
Beast With Bared Teeth, Adon:

Quiet Red Flash, Guy:

Bored Convict on the Run, Cody:

You can find them featured in the “SUPER Promotion Trailer 2″, so definitely check out the new forms of Guy, Cody, and Adon in SSFIV!

1 hit of Adon’s ultra. A fairly powerful knee right in Sagat’s big ‘ol chin.

Guy blocking a kunai thrown from someone with his saving attack. But now, in SSFIV there are no characters who throw kunai’s. That means….?!

And, here’s the picture from last week - as you can it, it was Cody beating up on Chun-Li. On the internet, there were a lot of people who thought it would be Rolento based on the stage background!

Tuesday’s 11/24 Dev blog update *Translated by Azrael* : Bonus Stages
3 Comments | Posted by strugler in Super Street Fighter IV

I want to go to the (National Tournament) regional qualifiers!
Hello everyone. This is Tsukamoto.
Today, director Okada, engineer Taguchi, and myself would like to talk about the bonus stages in SSFIV, and what it took to add them in.
Tell us the details of adding the bonus stages to the game.
Tsukamoto:
We wanted to have the bonus stages in the original arcade version. However, these days not many players bother racking up high scores in fighting games, and we’ve heard that arcade operators even disable them. So we weren’t sure if people even wanted them. Then, we thought that we’d be better off spending the time that we’d use on bonus stages on better balancing the game, so we eventually gave up on them.
Okada:
We also wanted to put in the bonus stages for the console version, but due to various circumstances we weren’t able to. This time, when we got the green light for SSFIV from producer Ono, he told us to definitely get them in, and I also personally felt that I wanted to put them in the game.

IGN.com hints at Selectable ultras for SSF4
43 Comments | Posted by strugler in Uncategorized

It is pretty much confirmed that all characters in Super Street Fighter IV will have a secoind ultra, what is not known, however, is wether these ultras are available throughout the match or selectable in the start of the match. while we still do not have a confirmation about any of the 2 options, IGN.com hinted at the latter being the case in their new “characters we want to see in ssf4″ article.
From the article:” Super Street Fighter IV, then, has us more than a little sweaty palmed, the prospect of new challengers, a new Ultra system (which Capcom is being coy on, but we’ve played it and would point anyone who wants a point of reference towards Street Fighter III’s Super Arts) ”
So, yep, seems like they will be selectable like in the SF3 series. What do you guys think of that? yay or nay?
